For over three decades, the Buxton Fringe has run alongside Buxton Festival and is one of the largest Art festivals in the UK, often attracting performers bound for Edinburgh. The friendly Fringe is open to all with no selection or censorship and there is always a spectacular variety of events in venues all over the town and beyond. Spectators can enjoy a massive selection of music and theatre as well as comedy, dance, visual arts, film and more.
We recently tendered for this work and are delighted to have been chosen. ‘It’s great to be working on the arts once again!’ It’s also great to be supporting a local (and very successful) festival. As a registered charity, we agreed to design all promotional literature for a fixed fee – a key factor in winning the pitch.
Programme cover competition
This year, the Fringe ran an open competition for the design of the programme cover. We entered and our design work is shown above. Unfortunately, we didn’t win but the client loved our line ‘All the town’s a stage‘ which is being used across this fesivals literature.
The design and production of artwork for the programme will be the biggest challenge – a 52 page catalogue which needs turning around within a two week period! But we’re used to tight deadlines, here at Tilley and Associates.
We have worked with the arts extensively. Some clients and work includes;
- The Bridgewater Hall (Manchester). Identity and marketing materials including advertising, posters & programmes.
- The Library Theatre (Manchester). Identity, and marketing materials including season programmes and advertising.
- Flourish Festival (Staffordshire). Festival identity, programme, street banners and advertising.
The Buxton Fringe Festival runs from 3 – 21 July 2013. You can find out more here.
