This summer saw the re-opening of Buxton’s Christian Bookshop.
Having recently closed after 25 years of trading, a new group of trustees was established with a remit to re-open the shop. They wanted to project a modern, contemporary and welcoming look and feel.
The solution
We felt that the best way to do this was to start with a new name, and retain the words ‘Buxton Christian Bookshop’ as a ‘strapline’. This kept a link with the shops’ past, thereby retaining existing customers, whilst the new name, and a modern identity appeals to new customers. We proposed a range of names – Chapter and Verse was the one chosen.
The use of the word ‘and’ was used as a marketing device to help communicate the various items for sale, for example, cards and occasions, bibles and books. A range of contemporary pictograms was also created to project a modern look and feel across all applications. These were also applied to the reverse of card racks which provided an ideal advertising opportunity. As these are such good spaces it was decided that these would be good platforms for seasonal advertising.
The range of marketing deliverables included;
• New name and logotype
• Stationery and press advertising
• Shop fascia and in-store graphics
• Website (currently under construction)
Since the shop re-opened in July, business has been good…
